That camera is complete crap.
They start by advertising it as a 12-megapixel camera, but a bit further down they confess that 12MP is via interpolation and that it actually only has a 5.1 megapixel sensor. Not only are they trying to decieve you - all of a sudden, the specs don't look so great.
Then they state that the camera has abosolutely NO OPTICAL zoom - only 8x digital zoom. Even a piece of crap HP camera has 3x optical zoom.
If you were to take a shot with a 5.1MP sensor at 8x digital zoom, you'd actually be using 5.1 / 8 = 0.6 megapixel... not the twelve megapixels they promissed... not even 5.1 megapixels... when you zoom in all the way, you're only using zero point six megapixel. Hell, your phone camera would take better shots.
Stick to Canon and other name brands.
Regarding your original question, a 128MB memory card will be okay for a 3 or 4 megapixel camera. If you get a 5+ megapixel camera, you'd be happier with a 512MB card.

Im gonna be taking a class called Intro to Photo Processes and we are required to buy a 35mm SLR, but I have no clue as to what is good for me. I'm more for good quality for a cheap price. I'm not so concerned about buying accessories for it just yet. All I wanna buy for now is the actual camera that satisfies the required 35mm SLR camera. Please make sure that the camera you will suggest will be compatible to accessories that I will add on eventually. Also, are those cameras digital already or with film? I need the digital ones.

Nikon FM 10 with a zoom in the range of 50-200mm. Tough, reliable, fully manual, no batteries needed and it will let you focus on learning the core skills and techniques of photography. You may want to buy a lens which will also be fully compatible with DSLRs if you choose to go that route in the future.

I have a Canon XS. I purchased the remote about 3 months ago, and I really haven't used it very much at all. Maybe for 100 photos at the very most.

Last night, I was taking some pictures using it, with bulb mode. That's when my remote decided not to work anymore. It will get the camera to focus, but when I press the button, nothing happens.

I don't make a lot of money, so i can't afford to keep buying camera accessories. Where can I get a good one for cheap?

For my Fujifilm S3 Pro I just go the simple remote that's basically just a shutter release. It's not even wireless and it was about eight dollars on ebay. I suggest you find out if something that simple is available for your camera. That way you can figure out if the problem is the remote you got, your camera, or the user.

hi i have a canon powershot A460 digital camera and i am looking for a separate flash unit that is powered by its own battery that can be used with my camera when i take a photo at night
(like the flash on the separate unit will be triggered when my cameras flash goes off)

When they take year book photos they used to put a card in the camera that would put a number on the picture, so they could keep track of it. What are those called?

Is there a better way to do it now with digital pictures?

Maybe you're thinking of what used to be called a databack - an accessory for film cameras that could stamp a time, date and sequence number on the film frame?

This is redundant with a digital camera as all this information if implicit - the files created have a time, date and sequence number.
