What does the inside of a red light photo enforcement camera look like?

Pics would be great!

New red light cameras in Napa, California

We just got a new photo enforcement system in place here in Napa, Ca. to catch red light runners. In this story I show where they're located ...

On photo enforcement cameras in L.A. If the light turns red when you are already in the intersection is that?

considered running the light? When I entered the intersection the light was yellow, but it turned red quickly. I thought I heard the camera click, but there was no flash. It was 7 p.m. still light outside. If you do get violated on one of these cameras, how long does it take to receive the ticket? Is there someone you can call to ask if the camera violated you?
Thank you
P.S. How much is the red light ticket in Los Angeles?

Here in AZ (probably true in other places), the red light camera sensor is in line with the curb line of the intersection (just beyond crosswalk on the approach side of the intersection). If you are beyond that sensor, you won't get violated. Also, once you are over the sensor and the light turns red, you shouldn't get violated. That's because the sensor needs to pick up a change (generates a pulse) as the car enters the detection area during the red, not after it is over the detection area (which does not generate a pulse).

You didn't hear the camera shutter click. Your hearing isn't that good.

It takes about 2-3 weeks to get notified. They have to review the pictures (after they are downloaded). The driver or car must be identifiable. Must be able to see the traffic light in the picture (guards against false citations), time and date stamped among other things.

Don't know about the fine for red light running.

Photo Enforcement Cameras?

For a majority of the photo enforcement cameras, what kind of signal do they give off? X, K, or Ka?

lol.....call police and ask them

Is a warning sign required for photo enforecement cameras?

In City of SF, they have red light photo enforcement cameras. Is it a requirement to post "advance warning signs" of photo enforcement at intersections with such cameras? If so, where would this requirement be stated? I could not find it in the Vehicle Codes.

photo enforcement cameras are warning signs of a coming police state. We are the prisoners.

  • Buy Cheap

  • Will AZ be State #15 to kick Redflex, ATS, Gatso etc Out ...

Details of the bans on Photo Radar in those fourteen states can be found. Arizonans are proud of the freedoms we are afforded by living in this great state. However, we are definitely behind the curve when it comes to this hidden tax and covert surveillance under the guise of “public safety.”

Arizona voters can go to the ballot box in November of 2010 and put that statewide ban on any type of Photo Traffic Enforcement. There’s one catch. We still need your help. What’s needed is 153,000+ signatures by registered voters. We are not there yet, but the goal is within reach. The great news is that we have time on our side. But with that time comes more propaganda and advertising by Redflex, in particular, in the Arizona Republic and on local radio stations.  ATS will probably come out with more cherry picked and misleading statistics about accidents and push-polls that don’t represent the true feelings of voters. Undoubtedly, the information war will only heat up to a boiling point from now until next November.
