What is a good photographers camera to use for commercial print?
29/Amateur radio

I plan on purchasing a camera for my mom for her birthday. she said she wanted a nice quality camera-not digital. i am a commecial print ad model and need quality photos. getting new photos for my comp is expensive and she is very good at capturing photos but we need something with better quality than my digital camera. anything under $500 would be wonderful. any suggestions of cameras/websites is greatly appreciated! thanks:o)

you are going to want somethin with at least 10 - 12 mega pix i dont think you will find this quality a camera for under $500 but the d40x is around $700

Photographers what type of camera do you love?
28/Esfahan

Photographers, what camera do you use and why do you love it? I've gotten some surprise answers from some of my friends in the industry and I'm curious what you think.
I like detailed answers best,

It depends on what I am shooting. For weddings, I would not take anything over my Canon 1Ds and lenses and flash package.

But when I am shooting for myself for the sheer joy of creating something, my Mamiya medium format film camera is my favorite. NO digital is even a close second to me as compared to the film camera and the total, EASY control I have of all aspects of exposure, focus, multi expusure, mirror lockup, and the pleasure when the results achieve my vision.

How much does a camera, that photographers use, cost?

Thanks :D

D40 is not a trashy camera this guy on flickr uses a D40 and off brand lenses

I use a D40 and get great quality

I took those photos with a D40 and a $45 lens from the early 70's. The D40 is great when you are just starting out. You have all the manual controls and you can focus on buying lenses or flashes or other accessories. Any camera body you buy will drop in price. your lenses will not! D40 is great to start with. It is YOU not the camera if your images are boring. If you can easily champion flickr with a used 35mm.

What is the best camera for photographers?
26/Gargamel & Azrael

I want to be able to take pictures like 1, 2, 3 - so, real quick and one after another.
I'd like to be able to hook the camera up to the computer and download the pictures.
I'd prefer a digital camera.
It shouldn't be too expensive. Preferably WAY less then $1,000.

I need the make, model, price, and additional information.
Please and thank you.

what camera is being used by photographers?
25/Burj Khalifa

i have a passion for photography! i love taking pictures using my cellular phone, and my friends appreciate my shots...
i wonder how much is that camera being used by photographers? because i also want to contribute in our university newspaper...

As a photographer, I will use whatever camera I happen to have available. If all I happen to have is my cell phone, than I will use it.

That said. I don't depend on my cell phone. What I depend on is my Nikon D200.

It's great that you want to contribute to your university paper, but I would see what, if any, cameras they may have to loan out. When I was in college, we did have a couple of low end cameras for our staff photographers to borrow.

The problem with a cell phone camera is that you don't get a great deal of resolution. The picture may look great on you cell phone screen. If may even look okay on your computer screen. But it will probably be unacceptable for publication once it's enlarged and cropped for the paper.

If you truly have a passion for photography, get a camera and learn how to use it.

  • Angkor Photography Essentials: Camera Equipment Reviews | Angkor ...

I bought my K20D to do research photography in rough environments in Cambodia, Thailand and Laos. I’m not a technical equipment expert but I have plenty of experience using cameras as a tool of my trade. This review relates a few tips and personal impressions about this terrific camera.

I actually bought a K10D in January 2007 for a series of research trips in Southeast Asia. I took about 15,000 trouble-free photos with that camera when it was, unfortunately, destroyed in an accident (a fire, incidentally, and I think it would have survived just about anything else).

In November 2008 I bought a K20D as a replacement. I bought my K10D with the standard lens. This time I bought the body and lens separately, which gave me a much better camera for my application. I decided on a Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 EX DC SLD ELD Aspherical Macro Lens for Pentax and Samsung Digital SLR Cameras, which I’ll review separately.
