digital camera won't tranfer pics to pc?

I've had an Olympus Stylus 770sw digitial camera for a couple of years now and have nothing but success with it. Until recently. It still takes awesome pics but when I try to download them to my pc I get a low tone beep after I press the "PC" link on the camera and than nothing. Usually my HP photo software pops up automatically but that isn't happening either. After this happened I downloaded the Olympus photo software onto the computer but that isn't to user friendly. Any ideas why the transfer would work all this time and then suddenly not? Thanks

there two ways you could transfer pics from digital camera to pc:

1. there is usb line to connect the pc and camera. you could do the transfering.

2. there is memory card in camera. you could take out the card and put it into computer ( u used to put it into an adaptor and then put into pc).

i suggest you read the instruction book and get more advice. otherwise, visit its website to call them!

Adobe Photo prevents me from copying pics to "MY PICTURES"?

Since the last iTunes upgrade, everytime I try to connect my Sony Cybershot Digital Camera to my Computer to download pics, the adobe photo program "takes over" and my computer now no longer recognizes my plug n play Sony camera (Which I've had for 2 years with no problem since this Adobe thing).

I've tried re-running the installation CD from the camera, it recognizes it, but when I try to download, it tells me there is nothing plugged in. I KNOW it's plugged in, because Adobe has already grabbed the pics. Also, in the control panel, it gives me a list of about 8 camera choices (like kodak, nikon, etc, but no Sony).

I hate the Adobe one. You can't edit or crop or work with the photos. Any one else have this problem? I'm dieing here.! (I have windows xp 2000) I can't uninstall the Adobe because I use the program for other file reading.

I've tried closing out the Adobe photo after it's popped up and stolen the pics, but my computer still won't recognize my camera.

You know, you are the second person in two days with almost the exact same problem. Did you download the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader? Another guy also had this problem with itunes. There must be an incompatibility issue!

So, go into control panel, add/remove, and remove Adobe Acrobat Reader...uninstall it. Then see if this fixes the problem.

would you get excited if you got this for your birthday???

this is for a 14 year old, but she likes these kind of things,

http://www.uberreview.com/2006/12/pop-ar t-color-camera-1-photo-4-different-image s.htm

what do you think???

If she is into different types of photography and art I'm sure she will really like it. Plus I'm sure she would be really excited to use it once she opens it so you should include a roll of film with it too. :o)

Should I renew my lease or buy a pop-up camper?

I've got $2,000 in that bank. Should be able get a half decent used one. I pay $550 rent on a studio apartment. After taxes my income is about $400 a week. I have 3 years experience in 1 hour photo lab work, 1 as management, have done a lot of portrait photography (mostly H. S. Seniors), very familiar with film and digital cameras, especially Fuji equipment, the Fuji DL410 digital "dry lab", Epson 9800 wide format printer and Photoshop CS3.
I have a relative that lives in the Hampton Bay area of Virginia. I could live in his driveway he says. If I am able to save some money doing this, maybe I can buy a place down there. The big question is will I be able to survive a winter in a pop-up camper down there? I know I will not be able to do it up here (central NY) as we already have had frost the other night.
Wed have pretty high unemployment around here, about 10% so demand for things like photography comes way after putting food on the table and a roof over one's head these days. Hopefully things aren't so bad that nobody is spending money. For example local seniors would spend $100 on portraits in 2006, maybe even $110. Today I'm lucky to get more than the $30 sitting fee and another $20-30 worth of prints. In 2006, 200+ seniors would get portraits out of a class of 300. This year looks like maybe only 100 out of 300. Few jobs and less money leaves me broke. I don't know if I should stick it out here in poverty or move on.

The Cheapest I've seen remotely close to this area is a 2008 Palomino Pony PopUp and it's $4,889. This is ok if you like living without a toilet, shower, heat, and a real roof. This will become handy during those blizzards. I'm not sure if it has heat, but you can trail it with your car it seems. Will your relative let yu hook up to his electric? Wouldn't it be easier to move in and crash on the couch? I think you should use all of that photographic talent, and put it on a resume. Take that resume to a Temp Agency. In your area, you should make 12-14 an hour easy. Also if you are under 24 you should look into the Job Corps. I know it has a bad rep on some areas. All I can say is that it has improved tremendously. I'm 36, and if I was 18-24 now and needed job training that is where I'd go.

Good Luck

  • Same Sensor, 7D vs T1i, Same quality? - PopPhoto Forums

Disregarding all the stuff which I do not use, as I am a manual shooter. The Sensors in these two cameras are Identical. Therefore using the same lense I should think that the picture quality will be identical. Basically they are just a black box with a shutter that opens and closes. And I ask myself, should I pay double the money for a 7D? Yes, at times I do use auto center focus. Just because two cameras have the same sensor does not necessarily mean they will offer identical image qualities. Part of the difference is the circuitry that deals with the input from the sensor, how the system handles noise at low exposures and so on. With digital there is more than just the "black box" idea, even if you do strictly manual focusing and/or exposure. Of course, the same lens on either body will provide the same starting point. It's what the camera does afterward that makes the difference, as well as other niceties, such as the durability of the body, sealing, and the like. Disregarding...
