Camera Sony W170

I want a basic camera with clear pictures and video shooting...nothing professional or over-the-top? Is Sony W170 good? thnx

At 10 MegaPixel, i wouldnt consider it a basic camera.

it has been 2 months and still my sony cyber shot dsc-w170 camera,s screen is blank white. Ithe camera dont capture any photos either and it dont show the picture if i click....plz can u help me what is wrong with my camera.

Maybe the image is oversaturated. Can you see the menus in the back? If so, try and set it back to defaults and then take a picture in automatic mode. If not, then you may have to consider sending it in for service; typically around $100-110. Call them first, you pay to ship it to them, they make an estimate and call you back before starting. If you don't want it repaired then they pay to ship it back.

i just need a camera which gives awesome results, good picture quality and more importantly excellent colours. also if anyone knows about any good canon camera, preferebly with a range of 8 to 10 megapixel then please help me out!

Any of those listed cameras will give you awesome results if you have some good basic skills with P&S cameras

The Nikon and Canon P&S cameras use the standard SD and/or SDHC memory cards. Sony uses the proprietary Memory Stick used only buy Sony products.

after inserting the charged battery, a blinking light comes on beside the battery. I get no power. lost the booklet and cant find answer online.

From what I can see the flashing lamp probably indicates that the flash is still trying to charge, possibly because the battery is not properly charging. Try putting it in the camera, turn the camera on even if you can't use it and leave it to go totally flat, then recharge fully - which could take all night. If it still won't charge then it could mean you need a new battery!
