How do I transfer pictures from my Vivitar (ViviCam 5386)digital camera to my computer???
can u give me the answer step by step if possible?
thanks....................
I read the spec for ViviCam 5386 and I found out the camera uses SD memory card and the camera connects to PC via USB port and all cameras have USB connection cable
Get your user manual if you have it or go to the manufacturer site and download it. Read the section which talks transferring pictures to PC. The reason I say this, there might be buttons or switches you have to turn.
Turn off your camera. Get the transfer cable and connect the camera to the PC (USB) port and turn on the camera. There will be a pop out window and copy the pictures. Once you finished copying, stop the connection on the lower left side of the task bar. Turn off the camera and remove the cable.
Again see the user manual.
If you do not have this cable you have two options with your SD memory card:
1) If you have newer model PC (assuming desk top), remove the SD Card and plug it to the appropriate slot and there will be a pop out window and copy the pics.
2): If you do not have a SD card slot in your PC, buy a SD Card Reader from best buy or circuit city. I would buy a multi memory card reader (for future) if money is not tight.
Remove the SD card and plug it to the reader. Connect the reader to the PC or lap top USB port and there will be a pop out window and copy the pics.
You are done
DON'T BUY THIS CAMERA...IT'S SUCKS!.......BIG TIME! DO NOT PURCHASE THIS CAMERA! Not unless you enjoy blurry images, having to activate ...
Will Vivitar digital cameras last a reasonable amount of time.
vivitar was one of the first photo companies to produce digital cameras, it should perform satisfactory.
My camera uses AA batteries rather than a built-in battery pack. i use nickel metalhydride AA batteries that are rechargeable, and have several sets to replace them as they run down. Items which comsume more power are the flash and CRT viewfinder, shutting those off may help get more battery life. You can change batteries and not lose the pictures already taken, they are on a storage card until deleted.

I am excited about using my Vivitar Digital Camera with my mak but they failed to send mac compatible software. Has anyone encountered this and do you have a link to the proper driver?
hmm not sure but if everything else fails, just get a USB card reader instead.

I have a vivitar 5 megapixel digital camera and I took the batteries out while it was on and now if I put the batteries back in and press the power button it just loads the vivitar start up screen and nothing else. The lens are stuck out and I think this is part of the problem.
go buy a new one
I have a vivitar digital camera, and about a few weeks ago, the battery cover will not stay attached to the camera, it keeps popping open. I looked at the cover closely, and the problem is that the piece that hooks the cover to the camera, is worn down. And I think this is a defective fault of the vivitar company. How can I get them to repair it or send me another camera? Who should I contact?
I had the same problem. Vivitar sent me a new cover for free. Go to the vivitar website, find the phone number for customer service and call them. It's that simple. Have your model number and date of purchase ready.

Vivitar Underwater Digital Video Recorder – Yellow | b'cause ...
I bought this camera because I love to snorkel. . the first time it hit the water, the “waterproof” seal leaked and it stopped working. I called the company who was unsympathetic that I’d lost all my great footage of whale sharks while snorkeling with them. If you cherish your memories, don’t buy this produst.
I purchased this camera 4 days ago and immediately took it to my swiming pool. After holding it in my hand I thought that there was no way this could possibly work or be waterproof. I was very wrong. I first trained myself on its operation and then tossed it in the pool. I got suited up in SCUBA and took it to the bottom at 6′ and held it at depth for 20 minutes. The film quality was excellent and no leaks. It was easy to operate underwater. The next day I took it to the Florida Keys. I took it immediately well past its rated depth of 10′ to 28′ and kept it there for several hours on at least six dives. I inserted a 8GB SD disk and took hours of video and over 100 stills. The quality was excellent both in video and stills.
