How good is a Vivitar camcorder that is 8.1 Mega pixels, high definition & 8x digital zoom?

The model would be "DVR810HD".
Optical Viewfinder: TFT
Image Resolution: 3264 x 2448
Movie Resolution: 1280 x 720
Focal Length: 4.5mm

Those specs SOUND impressive, however, without a model number I cannot really give you any real additional information.

I will tell you that one tip to picking a good camera is to not really look at the specs of the camera...but pay attention to the lens. So often people forget about the lens on a camera being as important as the sensor in there. I've seen cameras that have insanely high resolutions, but have the worst optics I've ever seen. A cheap lens is a cheap lens, throwing a high-resolution sensor doesn't change/improve the quality.

Most of the Vivitar cameras I've seen have been basic point-and-shoot cameras, but have halfway decent optics.

A good rule of thumb is if the lens looks like a webcam/camera phone, it's likely very cheap. If it looks like a big piece of glass, it's a quality camera.

http://steves-digicams.com is an EXCELLENT resource for looking up digital cameras. They generally have in-depth information and reviews of the camera, along with sample photos so you can see what the output quality is really like. Look up the model number of that Vivitar and see if Steve's has covered it, chances are they have.

Where can I buy a replacement battery for a Vivitar EEK Digital Camcorder?

I bought this camera and am very happy with it, but the battery is getting old. I cannot find the camera on the Vivitar website, so I can't use that as a source for the replacement battery.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks everybody, but I have already tried all the links you suggested. I can't believe how hard this is becoming.

Am I the only person in the world with a Vivitar EEK camera?

Whate are the best recording settings for the vivitar 565 HD digital camcorder?

I'm trying to record in the best quality possible on my camcorder, can anyone help?

It depends on the conditions you're recording under.....Good or bad weather, high or low contrast, close or far subject,ec. No single setting is best for everything. Get a 'how to' book on video filming, and ordinary photography as well. The exposure controls are the same artistically...whether you want high-key or low key images, sharp point of focus to accentuate some detail or other,or a misty mess for some surreal or mystical scenes. You can find loads of those books in the charity shops for 50p or a £1,(maybe £2-£3 in Oxfam though, more expensive there), because people buy them and then can't be bothered learning anything. Couldn't put a whole bookfull of tips on here....be boring for you anyway. All words and no pictures. You can see the effects they're on about if you get a book, all nicely done in diagrams and photos..................If you've got ASA settings, lower ones give more quality with less 'noise',but the lens aperture needs to be bigger or the shutter speed slower to give the same exposure as a higher setting,so that might affect what choice you make. A sharper but noisier pic may be better than a less sharp but better contrast one. Could be the other way. Depends what you want. You'll see as you go along so keep doing shots until you find what you like or what suits the subject best. You can always film over the same bit of tape again, nothing wasted. After a while, you'll be fluent with it,like practicing anything else. Nearly all the books have got the same stuff in them. There's no 'best' one. Filming is filming. They've all got the same things to say. Not hard to learn.Perseverance is the key, otherwise the book will be in a charity shop again..haha. Best of luck. Have fun.
