The camera i'm looking for is relatively inexpensive but more recently started to pick up in popularity again. Can anyone point me towards a few sites that sell these plastic cameras? I'm on the hunt.

How to operate the modified Vivitar Ultra Wide and Slim
So I've been on the hunt for a vivitar ultra wide and slim for about a month and a half now, still no success. I've looked mostly on ebay and every auction i bid on either ends up rising to a price I'm not willing to pay or getting sniped in the last 30 seconds. Either way, I lose and I'm still camera-less.
Rather than continue to spend my time looking for an authentic vivitar, i've begun to search for some kind of modern alternative. To this point, I found a company, superheadz, that says their product is a remake of the classic ultra wide and slim, but it seems worth questioning to me. they say they're made in the same factory and with the same wide lens that made vivitars so popular, so i wondered - does anyone know if i'd be getting the same camera (though updated) from superheadz as i would were i to actually win one of the items i bid on over ebay???

This is a toy camera, a 35 mm version of a LOMO type. It only has one shutter speed and one aperture opening (aperture f/11 and Shutter Speed 1/125th sec) and of course is pre-focused at 2m (6 feet). You know all this I am sure, so buying a Vivitar version it not such a big deal.
And actually these cameras are not that popular. The 120 LOMO cameras are the ones that are so popular. I would not pay more than $30 USD if you really want one.
What is a little scary is that Vivitar dot com does not list this camera. I hope the stated PRICE: 1,300 is in something other than USD. The camera probably cost under $10 to manufacture.

Just seeing if I can get it for a better price.
Also, you guys have shots with it, let me see 'em!
Sakar has recently aquired Vivitar and seems to have discontinued the camera. Your best bet is aftermarket auctions.
It is a fairly tough camera to find today.
I use eBay everyday, keep your life simple.
Shoot dynamic, wide pictures with 22m wide angle lens
Utilizes easy to find, standard 35mm film
Surprisingly vivid colors make your pictures bright and crisp
What are the main differences and which do you think is better?
If wide angle is your thing, the Vivitar has a 22mm lens vs. the LC-A's 32mm.
Plus the LC-A is way overpriced unless you source one directly from Russia. The lomography racket charges over double the cost of buying direct from ex-SU.
I just bought a Vivitar Ultra Wide & Slim, and I would like to experiment with as many kinds of 35mm film I can find. It would be a lot easier on me to just go into a store and find film, rather than ordering it online. I'm looking for slide film, especially. Any ideas where I could look ?
Kodachrome used to be the best for slides, but I read just recently it was being discontinued! I have to wonder what they're going to replace it with.
Find the biggest photo store in your area, one that caters to professionals (there are at least one or two in every big city). They usually have lots of film, stored in a refrigerator. They might even give you a list of the kinds they have.
I wouldn't buy film by mail except in the most desperate circumstances, especially during the warmer months.

The Vivitar Ultra Wide and Slim is a wonderful little plastic toy camera. At first glance, it looks like any other $2 junk shoppe camera, but the devil is in the details.
The UW&S has a 22mm lens – that’s wider than any DSLR zoom or digital point and shoot. Normally, to get that wide, you’d need to get a semi-pro DSLR lens!
If you like things wide, nay, ultra wide, the camera to bring with you is the Vivitar Ultra Wide & Slim. This simple point & shoot plastic camera brings the wide, wide world of a 22mm field of view to you in a small package perfect for your pocket. Its fixed f/11 aperture assures you of incredible depth of field and makes sure everything, front and back, is in focus. Make sure to shoot mostly in the sun though: for greater contrast and even incredible flares!
