Any Creative ideas on how to advertise wedding photography?
ErikBishoff.com

Does anyone have any creative ideas on how to advertise a new business (wedding photography/videography)? I'm just starting out and I don't have a huge advertising/marketing budget to work with. Thanks!

Get a great website together and then post your services anywhere that will allow such things for free. I found my photog on Craigslist. I actually interviewed 3 from there.

What is most effective and less costly way to advertise your wedding photography buisness?

I have been getting buisness through word of mouth and emailing bridal shops about exchanging buisness cards but its been a slow month. Is there another effective way to advertise without busting the bank for wedding photography?
Thanks so much!
I have a website that is online and is not a free one, my domain name is my buisness name.
I have done craigslist and others like it.

I know in our town we have bridal fairs at our mall and another at a local hotel. These fairs have booths set up so that businesses can get their names out there. I would start with that. Then word of mouth does wonder. Start some sort of reward program for people who refer you to other people. You may check and see if a local floral shop wants to team up with you and have packages that way. Also check out theknot.com. They are a wedding website that I believe is set up by area of the country.

What is the best way to advertise a wedding photography business?

I am expanding my wedding photography business http://www.andrei-photo.com.
What would be the best way to reach people ? I heard Yellow pages don't work anymore. Some suggested to put Ad on Google. What is your experience?

develop a portfolio or brochure that shows some of your work as well as referral contacts from satisfied customers. Contact wedding planners to see if they would be willing to use and/or recommend your services. Drop off glossy flyers at florists that specialize in wedding arrangements... get a web page that not only showcases the work you've done, but also has testimonials from satisified customers. Join your local chamber of commerce and network.... be prepared to divulge your business information such as successes, failures, etc.

Nearly every large church has a wedding coordinator on staff (usually a volunteer)... make sure you get flyers and info out to them - many times a bride will trust their church coordinator to make these sort of recommendations.

Consider expanding to engagement photos as well... many bride-to-bes want pre-wedding photos to share with their friends... these are usually less formal than the actual wedding day photos.

Where can we advertise our wedding photography business in Bristol and Somerset?

Are there websites, wedding magazines, newspaper classifieds, wedding fairs? Many thanks for your contribution.

Yes all these.. Best bet on a local basis are the local evening or weekly papers. Also any free papers delivered to all households, like yellow advertiser. Also the phone, business directories for your area.. Again the yellow pages and the BT local directory.. Presumably there are wedding fairs from time to time, exhibit at these. Another big source of business is personal recommendations.. Always leave your clients with a supply of business cards to hand to friends or relatives intending marriage...

Here Come the Brides

WHEELING - They already have their prospective husbands - and now all local brides need are the dresses, cakes, catering and other amenities to bring their upcoming weddings to life.

On Sunday, local brides turned out for the 2009 "Wedding Bells" bridal show, sponsored by The Intelligencer and Wheeling News-Register, West Virginia Northern Community College and the Times Leader.

The event in the WVNCC gymnasium served as a meeting spot where brides could first meet their wedding dress, wedding photographer and wedding cake baker.

And a lot of the brides seemed to think Masterpieces of Old Town in North Wheeling really "takes the cake" when it comes to wedding cakes, flower arrangements and wedding planning.

Baker Brad Riser offered free samples of his offerings, and brought with him examples of products to show what's on trend for weddings this season.

The key word is "color," he noted. His wedding cakes and flowers all were adorned with splashes of plum and green hues.
