I often see professional (and semi-pro) photographers trying to barter something along the lines of the services you are after on the local CRAIGLIST under Barter or Items Wanted that I would recommend you posting your own inquiry

Baltimore or Suburban DC areas are fine. THANKS!
I'm actually looking for folks who have used particular photographers and thought they were affordable, but with good pictures. Thanks for your answers so far....
I don't live in MD so I don't know. But at my wedding I picked about 4 wedding guests that I knew had digital cameras and placed them in certain areas for the cermony. Afterwards I supplied blank cd's for them and any one else to burn the pictures. I got moments that I didn't think would get captured. I had at least a thousand photos and it took a few days to go through them all. It cost me at most $20.00. I burned more cd's and passed it on to other friends and family. It was better than getting a photgrapher.

NEW 8-16mm F4.5-5.6 DC HSM Lens
# For All Canon Cameras , The NEW Sigma 8-16mm F4.5-5.6 DC HSM is the only one of its kind. This is the first ultra wide zoom lens with a minimum focal length of 8mm, designed specifically for APS-C size image sensors. It has an equivalent angle of view of a 12-24mm lens when used on digital camera with an APS-C size image sensor. Sigma's new FLD glass elements, which have the performance equal to fluorite glass, compensate for color aberration. One hybrid aspherical lens and two glass mold elements give excellent correction for distortion and astigmatism. An inner focusing system produces high definition images throughout the entire zoom range and the Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting while superior peripheral brightness ensures high contrast images throughout the entire zoom range. HSM ensures quiet and high speed AF as well as full-time manual focus capability. It has a minimum focusing distance of 9.4 inches throughout the entire zoom range which allows photographers to emphasize the subject by creating exaggerated perspectives. This lens has a compact construction with an overall length of 4.2 inches and a maximum diameter of 2.9 inches and is perfect for shooting landscape photography, architecture, building interiors, photojournalism, wedding photography, group pictures and more. New from Sigma, the pioneer of ultra wide-angle lenses.

Looking for a company with Roman Numerals in its' name (XVII or something) that does engagement/wedding photos. I think it might be based out of PA but I know they come to DC. Any help would be great!
I can't seem to find anything with Roman numerals in the name but I can suggest checking out this website:
http://www.theknot.com
They have city by city guides there broken down by state. Maybe if you take a look through them, you'll see what you're looking for.
I am a student in the DC area, currently persuing a degree in Photography. I have been studying photography in school for seven years now, and have been studying on my own for over ten years.
Although I am young, I managed a commercial portrait studio for three years before leaving because I was bored with what I was doing. I am now looking for a job, and would like to get one in the field of photography.... I realized that I miss it.
Unfortunately, I don't know where to start looking. I KNOW that I don't want to go back to the retail photographic market because I was just miserable there, doing the same thing in the studio over and over again every day. I wouldn't mind working as an assistant on wedding shoots, and I'd be absolutely thrilled to do some still life catalog work... (I have a very extensive B+W portfolio of fine art stuff, and a color/digital portfolio of portraiture)
Is there anywhere that I can find a list of local, art-related job openings?
Go to www.craigslist.com >> Washington DC >> Jobs, and run a search for "photographer" or "photography." I just did it and got a lot of results : )
Good luck!!
