Maui Wedding Photographer Gordon Nash?

Has anyone used Gordon Nash for a Maui wedding? The pictures on his website are absolutely breathtaking, but other than the following photgraphy websites I haven't been able to find any more info on this guy.

http://photographershawaii.com

http://www.mauiwedding.net

http://www.gordonnash.com

I want to know if A) This guy is legit and B) If others had their pictures turn out the same as the ones posted on his website.

The only testimonials or reviews I've seen are the ones on his website. After seeing his work, I would think a photographer such as himself would be on Yelp and all over the net.

Have you tried contacting the local newspaer to see if anyone has reported him?

Maui wedding packages--photography?

My friend had a wonderful wedding package in Maui but the one thing that went wrong was that the photographer the company provided took really awful pictures. How much would it cost to get a good outsourced photographer to a beach wedding for a couple dozen shots?

You are looking at around $2000 to get the photographer there and then what ever they charge for prints.

Wedding officiant on the island of Maui?

My fiance and I have decided to turn our vacation into an elopement. Does anyone know of an officiant who performs non-traditional spiritual ceremonies? Possibly someone who could perform a hand-fasting?

Also any recommendations for a creative and affordable photographer?

Thank you!

Have you asked on the Hawaii board on www.theknot.com? There are local brides there that might be helpful.

Good luck. We had our honeymoon there and it was wonderful!

How can we find a reasonable deal for a small, private wedding in Maui?

My fiancée and I have scheduled a trip to Maui this February and we are looking to be married while we are there. We are hoping if we provide a few details about what we would like, someone will be able to personally recommend someone.

Here are the details:

- Private ceremony for the two adults, plus 7-year old son
- Scenic background for photos, preferably a cliff or waterfall (but close to beach for some beach shots, too!)
- Floral leis (2 adult, 1 child)
- Assistance obtaining a marriage license
- Officiant to perform ceremony – spiritual, but non-denominational
- Photographer for 1-1.5 hours, and photos provided on CD

That’s really it – very simple, short, and sweet – but scenic, private and plenty of nice pictures. Some resorts are charging $1000 without pictures - for basically a pair of floral leis and a ten minute ceremony. We know there are much more reasonable options. Can anyone help?

You really need to check out the Old Lahaina Luau in Maui. I was married there in February 2006 and was extremely happy with it. It is a private location which is beautiful in pictures. The ocean borders the wedding site, so you can get the beach shots you are looking for. The coordinator will help you arrange all of the other services you need, including photography and marriage license. Another wonderful part about the wedding was the Luau that is held after your wedding, a great reception for you and your family! The prices are much more reasonable that what the major resorts charge.

Again, I highly recommend you check out their wedding services. If I had my wedding to do all over again, I would do it the exact same way.
Check out their website: www.oldlahainaluau.com

Have fun and congratulations!

We want to get married in Maui, Hawaii (Wailea) in July?

My fiance and I want to get married this summer, end of June or early to mid July, in Maui, Hawaii. I like the Wailea area. Ultimately, I'd like to stay at the Grand Wailea but am open to other resorts (although we could marry at the resort or have the ceremony elsewhere but stay there instead).

I've always wanted a candlelight ceremony and in a church or chapel. I'd also prefer to have a pastor marry us. We're not super religious but we want it to be a holy ceremony or have religious elements to the ceremony or vows. The "Grand" has a package like that but it's just going to be us...and maybe a couple of friends??? Basically, something simple, with candles and roses. I do want a videographer and photographer. And, I have no idea who I'd go to either to do my hair and make-up (but a resort should have a salon). A recommendation for that however, would be great...this is the day I should look exceptionally beautiful so I'm nervous to go somewhere I've never been and unfamiliar with not knowing what I'm going to look like afterwards! =)

We want to vacation there so why not elope there too! And due to cost of travel for friends and family, we've decided that eloping while vacationing would be lovely and then we'd have a reception with everyone here in our home town and leave the reception celebration on our boat during a popular August boating event. =)

Now that I've provided some of the details of what we've decided, I could use some help or suggestions on how we can make this happen! Cost is a factor...especially with a new baby on the way (but at least I have LOTS of air travel miles which should take care of our airfare)! I'm terrible at planning vacations, let alone one that would involve a wedding ceremony!

Thank you in advance for sharing your experiences, and providing suggestions and recommendations (hopefully based on experience!) to make our special day amazing in paradise!

I have not been to a wedding there, but I did vacation at the Grand Wailea for a week. It was the most beautiful, nice place I have ever stayed! The resort does do a lot of weddings and there is a beautiful chapel and garden and tons of places for pictures. Also, there is a salon... I got a few spa services and they were amazing.. I'm sure their beauty services are great as well. And the food and service can't be beat!

You'll have to contact them to find out about their wedding packages and costs, but I can definitely vouch for the resort. I would stay there again and again!!
