I 'm looking for a wedding photographer that in the Portland Oregon area for a reasonable rate. Can anyone recommend someone ?
I can't recommend anyone but I would check Craig's List first, many part time photographers and students would advertise there. Would be great shots and cut rate costs if you can find a good one. If not try The Knot. Brides on the site can give really good advice on vendors in almost any part of the country.

how much should I expect to pay for a wedding photographer in Portland, Oregon? (we just changed our date to September instead of November, so we don't have much time to get someone lined up)
That really all depends. I ahve 2 brothers who are both married. one spend 1200 and the other spent 700. the one who spnt 1200 the photographer forgot to take the grooms side of the family and the one who spent 700 even got included was a dvd of all engagement and wedding pix. Just spend 2 days callin and getting prices and what all that it includes and i bet u will find a great one
I will be moving my wedding photography busines from Tampa, Florida to Portland, OR.
Does anyone know how the market is for wedding photographers in the Portland Metro area is? Would you suggest I market to seattle as well?
thanks
I live in Tacoma (30 miles south of Seattle), and I have lived in Portland. Have family and friends in Portland.
I think you would probably do pretty well in Portland and maybe out onto the Oregon coast. Seattle is 200 miles from Portland and when you've done it tons of times it gets really boring to drive. Portland has a pretty good population and some great old churches for weddings. Since Portland is on the northern border of OR and WA theres alot of people in Vancouver too. And again the beaches.
You may need to venture further north to get some business at first, but I am sure you wont have to go far from home to get work pretty soon.
I'm a wedding photographer and the couple I'm shooting this weekend wanted their pictures taken at the Portland Japanese Gardens. Unfortunately, the Gardens don't allow portrait photography. Does anyone know of a similar location that does?
Other than a backyard, the only place which comes to mind is the path up to the Japanese Garden. It's much in the same style as the interior of the garden, but it is outside the admission gate so they'd have trouble enforcing a ban on photography there.
This is not for a wedding. It is for a quick meeting with a politician.
Thank you,
Take a look at this site and go to talent and then photographer and then the state.

Hope that helps also,
