Good luck!
We are having a 1930's art deco old hollywood glam wedding theme.
Our invites will look something like this

or

We want our invites to scream formal even without having to tell guests on the invite itself that it's black tie. (Well we don't care if men don't wear tuxedos. As long as they are in suits)
Our wedding cake idea

Well I think I've found some really beautiful bridesmaid gowns. They are black and long. The men will be in classic black tuxedos with tails.
My problem is my dress. I don't like any of the art deco hollywood inspired wedding gowns. I don't want to mess up our whole theme by getting a ball gown. Maybe that will be okay though?
Do you think a ball gown fits into the theme?
http://marysbridal.com/bridal/8622.htm (this is the one I think. I've tried it on like a billion times and I keep going back to this one)
This one is the runner up http://marysbridal.com/bridal/8678.htm
The problem I have is I'm 6ft and 170 pounds. I have a large chest and the dresses I've tried on just don't look right on me.
Garnet Glitter our first dance is going to be Cheek to Cheek! We are taking lessons to learn a similar routine. Of course no one can dance like Mr. Fred. I just love Ginger Rogers. I was thinking that maybe I could get like a fur shawl like the top of her dress in Top Hat.
I guess I just don't feel comfortable and attractive in the really slim dresses.
The bird cage veil is a great idea also! My hair will be done in the wavy style that looks like it's gel to your head.
The dress you keep going back to is probably the one you will want to get but it will need to be bustled so you can glide across the dance floor like Ginger Rodgers. You can actually get that dress for under $500 btw.
You might be too hot with the fur shawl that is in Top Hat especially since you want to be comfortable.
I would also choose your dress to be in an ivory or champagne as white would take away from your theme.
Since your hair will be done in a 1930's style instead of a veil (although the birdcage would look nice) you could wear a swarowski crystal with feathers like the old Hollywood stars of the 30's
I have a few pictures of cakes I really like but need help choosing only one. Can you help me? My colors are red, black and white or ivory and my theme is old century.

A little neater though.

Numbers 4, 6 and 10 but 10 will also be white chocolate or icing.

The display cake in brown, red and green with white icing isn’t it lovely.
This is the popular choice chosen by you ladies from another angle yum

I like #6 on emmascakes...you seem to be going for a stacked cake, but on this one, it adds a little design to the edges, which looks fancier and better for a wedding. All the fruit is pretty too. If your theme is old century, I think the detail on this cake would fit perfectly.
