I want to see what the average is.

I didn't my SINCERE suggestion: get a friend good with computers to do it as a gift. Some people already have the programs or you can buy them for less than 50 bucks, a friend did ours and it came out SO GREAT! Otherwise it will cost you a bundle, I am guessing a few hundred was your quote from a professional.

I want to know what photo movie software chinese studio's are using, they make amazing photo movies with the photo's doing all kinds of animated things..if anyone knows i would like to have a go with my photos

I am shopping around for quotes on dj, photographer, and video for my wedding in July. I want a BASIC video pkg and a basic photography pkg...is this a good deal? My one issue is that im paying almost $1,000 for a photographer who isn't going to print any of my photos?? is this a good deal, any advice?

DJ - 4 Hours, 1 Entertainer, 1 Party Light - $595
Photo - 8 Hours, 1 Shooter, Hi-Res Ready to Print CD of all images, 60 Days Online Image Hosting -$995.
Video - Ceremony & Reception Coverage, 1 Shooter, In Camera Edit, All Raw Footage. - $995

On the dj, that's about average. Make sure you go to one of his events to listen to this dj ahead of time. Also make sure your contract is THAT DJ! Many of the companies promise you a dj and bait and switch at the last minute. You've talked to this dj about what songs you want, what is not allowed, and then the wedding day it's a completely different guy. So I'd ask a lot of questions on that but the price is fairly reasonable.

Photo is reasonable too. I paid about double that for mine but it included a lot more than yours does. I had 2 shooters which I deemed necessary as who is going to get the other shots (like the guests) when your photographer is all about you and taking your pictures. You can't see everything so I think it's best to have a second photo assistant there.

You get a cd of all the images so that's good. I got my proofs as well but talk about the negatives. Can you buy them separately? Otherwise you'll never be able to make copies of that. Walmart can't release it to you so when you make a copy they won't give it to you. You do have the photographer for a really really long time. That's really nice. Most contracts are only for 5 hours and it took me a while who I could get for 6 hrs.

However what are you getting for 1000? How much will it be extra for anything? You aren't getting an album or a mother's album. My photographer was $2,500. I had 6 hrs, 2 shooters, multiple cameras (including a b&w), an album, a 16x20 framed, a mother's album, and the proofs. I bought the negatives separately for $200 after about 1 yr that she keeps them and she retained the rights for any use of them for advertising but after that I had the rights to make duplicates.

If you want these things, an album might run you an extra $600, a bridal portrait an extra $400. Make sure you've looked over these extra costs.

Video- Don't sign that contract. That's the biggest rip off I've ever seen. That's one camera on a tripod in the back and he isn't even making a wedding video out of it. My uncle had 2 video cameras and he set them up on tripods so he could get 2 different raw footage and then it could be edited. With that one, you'll have the same image (of the back of your head or just your face, none of the groom) the whole ceremony and just to hit record he is charging you a grand?!? For what? That's a rip off.

The others just ask good questions to make sure you are getting what you really think you are getting. Not getting any actual photos sucks especially if she has the rights and you have to get each photo printed by her at $10 each. Plus you'd have to buy your own album and all that. But you are getting her for a really really long time (do you need her for 8 hrs? My photographer was there at 430 to start pics, the ceremony was 7-730, reception 8-11 when the photographer went home.) 8 hours means she is getting pictures of you at the salon getting your hair done and if you aren't having an evening wedding, the reception and ceremony will only be about 3-4 hours. (Evening receptions last longer).

Everybody can add to the contract but ask a lot of questions to see how much extra. It may knock it out of your budget.

Once you put up a photo/ video coverage business, hire a professional photographer. coz, everything goes as it is no sequence or the likes. but of course you have to cover first the wedding itself before the reception. hehe
