Wedding Photographer Colchester

Answers

Are there any student photographers in the Colchester area that would be willing to do my wedding in July?

I am getting married on 21st July and need a cheap photographer. I thought that by using a student it would aid me with the cost and them with experience and portfolios. Must be in Colchester.

be very careful about getting inexperienced people to take your wedding photos... the reason wedding photographers aren't that cheap is because they've usually lots of experience, its a demanding job to do well...

its a one day event, if something goes wrong you can't press rewind and do it all again.. wedding photographers are used to moody kids, clouds passing over, rain and the inevitable camera dying or flat battery etc... they know how to get the most flattering angles and where to stand etc... would you really want a student to practice learning how to use their camera on your wedding day? unfortunately if you want some pictures to remember your day by, its best to pay for a professional...
if you really want some great photographs (as well as a proper photographer), give some of the kids cheap digital cameras and get them to take snaps! you'd be surprised at what they come up with, and usually everybody smiles and is happy when children take photos of them... also they catch the moments everybody else misses... good luck..

Essex Wedding Photographer at Layer Marney Tower Colchester

Layer Marney Tower is a very popular wedding venue.  However, it is expensive to hire even when it is just for the ceremony.  Summer and Chris had only hired it for one hour.  This made scheduling very tight and they naturally wanted as many photos as possible.  Luckily the civil service was very short, which I am sure is no coincidence.

The back of Layer Marney Tower and gardens face south, which is the view you will be familiar with.  This means the tower bears the full brunt of the sun.  Therefore it is impractical to take group shots with the towers behind.  Everyone will be blinded by the sun!  Even if the sun is overpowered with flash/video lights everyone will still be squinting.  However, with a little imagination it is possible to take some great images of the bride & groom with the tower in the background.

Layer Marney Tower dates back to the first half of Henry VIII’s reign and is iconic with its Tudor architecture.

Layer Marney Tower makes a great wedding venue being available for wedding ceremonies and receptions throughout the year with the Corsellis Room for up to 120 guests or in the hall of the gatehouse with up to 15 guests.  Wedding Receptions take place in the Long Gallery.  The Long Gallery is an amazing room with oak flooring & panelling that can seat up to 140 guests for a meal.
