Hi,
I’m usually not negative or complaining but this should not go unnoticed for any future brides. I would like to share my true story so other brides didn’t get themselves into the same situation. Sorry for my long story.
We had our wedding reception in 2008 and hired “The Pros” (www.thepros.com) as our wedding photography company. I picked a very experienced photographer and everything went well. But then 3 weeks before my wedding, The Pros said my photographer get busy on my day and they’ll send another photographer to me. I have no choice and I did not have much time to search again, so I accepted their offer. I can’t believe it was our nightmare to start! My photographer was horrible and very unprofessional. He lost our photos. When we received our wedding photos a month after our wedding from The Pros, we found that a good portion of our photos was missing and the little that they had given us was amateurish and horrific. This made us very upset. We contacted the company on numerous occasions and they refuse to assist us or take any responsible actions. We have yet to receive any of the photos back, an apology, compensation or any type of assistance. They were very rude and lack true meaning of being in the service industry, especially in dealing with weddings. It has been such a true nightmare for us. Nothing can replace memories of our wedding day and The Pros have definitely robbed us of that. We already filed our complaint with Division of Consumer Affair and Better Business Bureau. This horrible experience has caused much unnecessary stress, pain and sorrow as a newlywed couple. Please don’t trust anyone affiliated with The Pros.
Recently, I met a friend from Bride.com and thank you so much for her support to me. She said she ALMOST picked The Pros on her wedding. However, her vendors told her the horror stories about The Pros. One of them is that they lost pictures. She said, The Pros offer their service all over the country and make their name “popular”. They do poor work and unprofessional because they hire a bunch of people and don’t bother to really check who these people are. So, they always use excuses to change your original photographer to someone who don’t know anything about pictures.. They ruined your wedding. I am definitely one of the victims.
That is my true story. The only reason I’m being honest is so another innocent bride does not have to experience this way I did. Please spread the word to any brides-to-be you know. Hope this helps and thank you so much for your time to read my real story!
Do you have any the same experiences as me? Please share. :)
Sorry about your loss.
Time to contact everyone on your guest list and tell them your story.
See if any of them can send you photos that they took ir see if you can get the original files on CD-R or DVD.
Good luck.

how can anyone say what the best settings are for something without a light reading?
Anyone calling themselves a "photographer" is suspect if they ask questions covered in the first class in photography.
Viewing their "book", portfolio or website is usually enough to see if someone knows what they are doing.
It all goes back to Mr. Rockwell's article "Your Camera
Doesn't Matter" on his website.
There seems to be such a gap between P&S shooters and those who use fully adjustable cameras as a career, finding a middle ground is tough. It seems that "point, shoot, try and fail" is less stressful to many rather than taking the time to take at least one class in photography.
It seems that your idea of using a light meter, is too technical for some.
there was an question in this forum many weeks ago. i read it and went to the article link suggested. it was great, but i forgot to bookmark it and want to see if i can find it again. the photographer mentioned sounded fantastic....
No matter what wedding service you are looking for, you should check out http://www.bestweddingpros.com/ where you can find vendors for ALL wedding services across the entire USA. You can also post requests and ask questions just like here.
Hi,
I was wondering what to do with the Photographer and Videographer during our Wedding Reception - should we set a place for them to eat or let them look after themselves. What is the custom?
Thanks for reading this,
Tom
Yes, set them a place somewhere kinda off to the side so they can get up without disturbing people. Of course don't isolate them and make them feel silly eating totally alone in a corner or something either...
You also need to offer to feed anyone else -- such as a DJ, coordinator, etc.
If you want, you could ask the person beforehand if they plan to eat. For example, some photographers may never eat at their client's weddings, and can tell you ahead of time no thanks. That way you can save a chair -- and food :)
But it will read other CDs. Also, my computer at work will read the wedding CD, so I know that CD is fine. Why is this happening? what can I do? Thanks!!
The first answer is right to check if it is a DVD instead of a CD. Your work drive may read both and your home one only CDs.
If that does not help, you could buy a reasonably cheap USB flash drive, copy the files from the disk to the USB drive while at work, and then read / copy with your home computer from the USB drive.
The Veil with a Special Touch - Weddingbee - The Wedding Blog
I'm currently living in Orange County, but planning our wedding in my hometown of San Diego. We are a DIY wedding "2fer", as I'm the crafty one and Mr. Ducky is in charge of all of our graphic design and technical aspects. When not wedding planning or reading wedding blogs, I'm attending grad school and rotating between two different jobs to keep things exciting. My favorite things include shoes, Post-Its, Labrador Retrievers, traveling, psychology, delicious food, photography, reading, craft gadgets/supplies, and of course, my wonderful Mr. Ducky!
Remember when I played dress up with Mama Duckling’s wedding dress? Well, after trying on her dress I wanted to figure out some way to incorporate the lace into my veil. There was a veil that I loved when I first tried on my dress, but it was a crazy $1000!! That clearly wasn’t in the budget, but I loved the lace edging and thought that maybe we could do the same thing with my mom’s lace.
