Lost my job, getting married in june and need a decent but not expensive wedding photographer.
Last year my friend Faye got married in mid Sussex, not far from Brighton. Two guys who work under the name i-clic photography, took her wedding photographs. I've seen a lot of the pictures and they're really good, also the guys taking the pictures were very friendly and professional without imposing on the day itself. They have a photo studio in Brighton and will even take pictures of you in your dress before the marriage itself. Faye said they only charged a few hundred pounds, which is cheap for this part of the world. I've checked and there web address is: www.i-clic.co.uk. good luck,
Acanthi.
Hello, could anyone recommend a good photographer in east sussex, not to expensive,i like reportage photography andliving in eastbourne i want some funny pictures to be taken on the beach, also has anyone had their wedding at the hydro hotel, what was it like and was it worth the money???????????
Ring your local newspaper, ask for the chief photographer, and ask if any of his staff are interested in this work. Local newspaper photographers are among the best in the country. They know exactly how to get the best shots and will be glad of the chance ot earn some spare cash.
Here are examples of some I have found:

Basically any unique, unusual, poses for wedding photos is what I am looking for. Any ideas/links to pics that have ideas?
Arrrgh!
The photographer who did my nephew's wedding used to have a website, and she had absolutely great photos on there. She took her website down about six months ago, and hasn't put it back up. She was getting too much work.
She had a lot of really cool stuff. Her specialty is black and white, and she did a lot of outdoor photos. I will briefly describe all of the ones she had on her site which have stuck in my mind. In all of them, the bride was in her gown and the groom was in his tux, and the majority were in black and white, or sepia. She also has a colorist who works for her and does hand-tinting of black and white, and that alone is very striking.
--Groom pushing the Bride, who is in a big old tire swing under a huge old tree
--Bride sitting sidesaddle in front of the Groom on horseback (that one was hand-tinted, and only the flowers and the trees in the background were colored)
--Bride and Groom sitting at a regular old coffee shop with regular people in it, surrounded by white packages with colored ribbons (again, B&W, with the ribbons hand tinted)
--Bride and Groom sitting in a tree kissing (I think that was a take on the children's rhyme about K-I-S-S-I-N-G)--they look very casual, with no shoes on, sort of like kids playing dress-up
--Bride and Groom at a formal table with crystal and china and silverware, with big huge burgers and fries on their plates, and sharing a milkshake with two straws
--Bride and Groom in a rowboat on a small lake--she's lying back on pillows, and he's rowing (his jacket is off, and his sleeves are rolled up)--that one was in color, and was beautiful because it was taken at sunset
--Bride and Groom in a studio setting where all the furniture was borrowed props and is really random--the background was part brick wall and part stage scenery--that was in color, too
--Bride and Groom jumping on a trampoline holding hands--she got them when they were in the air, laughing and looking at each other
--Bride and Groom lying on their backs in a field of wildflowers--that one was taken from above, and the caption said she had to borrow a truck with a cherry picker on it so she could get above them for the picture--her assistant colored all the flowers by hand!
--Bride and Groom in their clothes but with goggles, snorkels, and flippers on
--Bride and Groom dancing (looks like waltzing) in the middle of a busy intersection--they were completely hand colored, and everything else was B&W
--She also had a lot which were pretty much the same format, with just the props changing--it was the Bride and Groom sitting on the floor surrounded by various things--one was puppies, one was balloons, one was sports balls like soccer balls and basket balls and volleyballs, and there were others
--Bride and Groom at the Zoo--she's on the back of an elephant, and he's standing looking up and offering a flower
--Bride and Groom playing tennis, also one of a couple playing golf
--Bride and Groom with funny expressions on their faces, surrounded by wadded up wrapping paper and about 20 identical boxes of toasters
--Bride and Groom toasting each other with champagne on a sofa in a furniture store while people are shopping
--Bride and Groom jumping on a bed at, I think, IKEA
--Bride and Groom eating a long piece of licorice, with their noses almost touching--there was also one with the same couple in a candy store holding big jars of candy, and one with them blowing huge bubbles with bubble gum
--Bride and Groom in the remains of an old church, standing where the altar would have been, looking at each other and holding hands--that was in color and was really cool because there were shafts of light coming in the window and you could see the dust motes in the light
--Bride and Groom on a ferris wheel at a carnival at dusk, after all the lights had been turned on
She also had a whole assortment of more formal portaits, only in unusual places, like a couple who were both med students sitting on a gurney in an ER, a couple who were movie buffs at a theater with popcorn buckets, and a couple at a library with books stacked all around them.
I wish her site was still up. She was the best wedding photographer I have ever seen, and her actual photography skills were really great. She had a knack for getting just the right shot, but maybe that's because she shoots a minimum of three rolls of film for every shot she wants to get. Also, she said right on her website that other photographers were free to "borrow" the ideas used on her site, as long as they made small changes, because the people who didn't want someone borrowing their ideas didn't have their pictures posted on the site--you had to go to her studio and look at her portfolio to see them.
I hope some of those spark your imagination. I sure wish I had seen her site before I got married--my wedding photos are absolutely putrid. (In all fairness, she was in middle school when I got married...*sigh*...)
Wedding photography at Sussex Barns, Burnham Market | Chris Taylor ...
Had a windy one last weekend, Hester and Nick were married at Sussex Barn along the North Norfolk coast near Burnham Market. It’s a real shame it was so windy as Hester and the girls got ready at the Titchwell Manor hotel which has some really great outside areas for photos but the gusts were so great that Hester would have been in danger of having the intricate work on her hair completely undone!
Below, flowergirl Olivia was ready before the other bridesmaids and was more than happy to have her photo taken so I ended up getting more of her than Hester, the bride, during this point of the day!

Below, the lads arrive, you can see how windy it is as they brace themselves against the wind in the car park.
Below, I thought these submerged roses made a really interesting way of presenting the flowers in the reception venue, turns out they were Nick’s idea, possibly the most creative doctor ever?!
