Will a 100TMX 120 film work with a YASHICA D twin lens reflex?

The film is a kodak 100 TMAX but it is a 120 film, well i use this film with my holga.

Film is film. As long as you use the right size for the camera (35mm, 120, 110, etc) then it will work. A Yashica D Twin Lens Reflex camera uses 120 film...so you can use ANY 120 size film.

The only thing you might need to be careful about is to not use a film that has too high of an ISO rating. The ISO rating means the film's light sensitivity. (Sometimes it's also called the "film speed.") For example, if you use a 400 ISO film in a camera that has shutter speeds that only go up to 200 and the aperture only goes down to f/16, then you might overexpose the film if you take pictures outside in bright sunlight.

100 T-MAX is a 100 ISO film, which would be fine in your camera, since it has manual exposure control.

Generally, I never use film that has a higher ISO than the fastest shutter speed on my camera. Of course, I mostly take pictures outdoors in sunlight (landscape photos mostly). So for example, if I'm using a camera with shutter speeds that go up to 1/400, then the highest ISO film I would prefer to use would be 400.

If you know you're going to be taking pictures in low light...indoors, at night, etc, then you can use higher ISO (higher "speed") films. Of if you are using a camera that has higher shutter speeds available, then you can use a higher ISO film.

I hope that didn't confuse you. If you want more information about that, just look up what's called the "Sunny 16 Rule." It's a guineline for using manual exposure outdoors.

Anyone know of the worth of a Yashica Minister-D 35mm camera, fully working, immaculate with original case?

The iem is embossed with a small personal silver plaque addressed to a retiring employee of John Player & Son (retirement gift, apparently), dated 1968 and has a new battery.
Cheers.
James.

I looked your camera up in McKeown's Price Guide to Antique and Classic Cameras, 12th edition, and the Yashica Minister D is worth $20-$35 dollars by this guide. With the retirement plaque, it may have some added value to someone who knows of the company, or the retiree, but otherwise it probably wouldn't effect the price significantly.

What type of film do I need for a YASHICA FX-D?

I have just been given my Dads' old camera but I don't know what type of film I need for it. I bought some cheap film but it won't fit inside the back. Do you need different film for a SLR?

The camera is a 35mm camera, so any 35mm film will work in it. You can find an on-line manual for the camera at <http://www.butkus.org/chinon/yashica/yas hica_fx-d/yashica_fx-d-splash.htm>. I suggest you read it before you try to load the camera again.

How do I load film into a Yashica-D twin lens camera?? And other twin lens questions.?

I've gotten the back open - now what?

Also, I'm confused about how to set the ISO. I have found the ASA knob, but to set it for 100 ISO film, for example, would I make sure the 100 on the knob is facing up?

Lastly, am I correct in assuming that the X/M switch isn't important if I'm not using a flash?

Thank you!

Yashica 635 HTML Manual can be seen here. Loading 120 will be the same as the D
